Old Video of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor Resurfaces, Sparking Fresh Outrage Over $5,000 'Anointed Mantles'

Social media is buzzing once again with criticism directed at Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the founder of Word of Life Bible Church in Warri and former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). An old video has gone viral, showing the prominent clergyman appealing for $5,000 donations from 90 people in exchange for what he described as "anointed mantles" that would help them avoid "missing God."In the clip, filmed during a service at a church linked to the late evangelist Morris Cerullo in the United States, Oritsejafor passionately urges the congregation to step forward with the substantial pledge.

He frames it as a special seed that would secure a spiritual mantle, ensuring divine connection and guidance. The footage first caused a stir back in 2019, drawing sharp reactions from figures like media personality Daddy Freeze, who questioned whether God needed money to prevent people from "missing" Him.

Critics at the time accused the pastor of blending faith with financial appeals in a way that raised eyebrows.

Now, as the video circulates widely again on platforms like X and blogs such as Linda Ikeji's, netizens are piling on with renewed fury. Many call it an example of prosperity gospel taken too far, wondering aloud how spiritual blessings could come with a price tag—especially one as steep as $5,000.
