Ghanaian 'Doomsday Prophet' Ebo Noah Arrested After Failed Flood Prediction

Accra, Ghana – Evans Eshun, the 30-year-old self-proclaimed prophet better known as Ebo Noah, was taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service on December 31,2025

The arrest came just days after his highly publicized prediction of a catastrophic global flood on Christmas Day failed to materialize, leaving many followers disappointed and authorities concerned about public panic.Ebo Noah first shot to viral fame earlier in 2025 when he began posting videos on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, claiming divine visions instructed him to build modern-day arks. Dressed often in sackcloth, he shared footage of wooden boats under construction in the coastal town of Elmina, insisting God had warned of relentless rains starting December 25 that would devastate the earth for years, much like the biblical flood.

He boasted of completing up to ten vessels to save believers, animals, and repentant souls, even urging people from across Africa and beyond to join him.The prophecy drew massive attention – and ridicule.

Thousands reportedly gathered near the sites, including a Liberian man who traveled to Ghana seeking refuge, only to end up stranded when no deluge arrived. As Christmas approached without a drop of apocalyptic rain, Ebo Noah shifted gears, announcing in a video that his prayers and fasting had convinced God to postpone the disaster.

He said more arks needed to be built to accommodate the overwhelming number of people seeking salvation. In a bizarre twist, on the very day the world was supposedly meant to end, Ebo Noah popped up onstage at rapper Sarkodie's Rapperholic 2025 concert in Accra.

Cheered by the crowd, he encouraged everyone to celebrate the delay, which only fueled public outrage and calls for his accountability.Police confirmed the arrest was carried out by the Inspector General's Special Cyber Vetting Team as part of a broader effort to curb cyber-related activities and prophecies causing fear ahead of New Year's services.

Earlier reports suggested local authorities in Elmina had been searching for him after his claims prompted real-world disruptions, like the Liberian traveler's ordeal. While religious prophecies aren't inherently illegal in Ghana, officials have long warned against those spreading alarm or disorder. Ebo Noah's case highlights the rapid spread of such claims online and their potential to mislead vulnerable people.

As investigations continue, many Ghanaians are debating the line between faith and fraud in the digital age.
