Nigeria's Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, has opened up about facing a conspiracy from detractors who believed they had derailed his career, only for divine intervention to turn things around.Speaking during a heartfelt testimony at the Conquerors Global Assembly church in Abuja, Musa, accompanied by his wife, reflected on the challenges he encountered this year.
He thanked the church's founder, Bishop David Abioye, whom he described as a close ally, and his wife for their support."We give God the glory for what has happened this year," Musa told the congregation. "Even when the enemy thought they were putting us down, they did not know God was going to lift us up.
In their small minds, they conspired and thought they had won. But as long as you have God as your pillar, you will win."The minister emphasised that trials are essential for personal growth, saying adversity helps build strength.
He urged worshippers never to lose hope, reminding them that "we serve a living God who will never give up on us."Musa's remarks come shortly after his appointment as Defence Minister on December 2, when President Bola Tinubu nominated him to replace Mohammed Badaru, who stepped down on health grounds.
Previously serving as Chief of Defence Staff, Musa was praised by the President for his ability to bolster Nigeria's security efforts.During the service, Musa also warned against constantly speaking negatively about the country, noting that persistent criticism does no good.
He encouraged Christians to live out their faith authentically, as true impact comes from actions, not just words. His testimony has resonated widely, highlighting themes of resilience, faith, and overcoming obstacles in a nation facing ongoing security challenges.
