The lifeless body of a police officer, Inspector Mohammed Yakubu, who was declared missing has been recovered in Benue State, weeks after he was reported missing while on official duty.
Sources within the police command disclosed that the officer was last seen weeks ago after leaving his duty post, raising concerns among colleagues and family members who subsequently reported his disappearance. Despite efforts to locate him, including internal alerts and community inquiries, his whereabouts remained unknown until his body was discovered in a remote area of the state.
The remains were said to be in a decomposing state, suggesting that the inspector may have been killed shortly after he went missing.
