Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has firmly rejected a recent threat by a group of youths in Ohafia who warned they would prevent him from entering their community. The senator described the ultimatum as baseless and fabricated, insisting it was politically motivated ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a sharp response, Kalu dismissed the claims as nothing more than attempts to stir trouble and undermine his influence in the zone. He emphasized that no genuine youth group from Ohafia had issued such a statement, suggesting instead that it stemmed from opponents seeking to exploit divisions for political gain.
The controversy appears tied to escalating political tensions in Abia State, where Kalu has been vocal about his ambitions and the All Progressives Congress' (APC) prospects in future polls. Critics accuse him of issuing threats and stirring unrest, while supporters argue he is being unfairly targeted for his outspoken nature.
Kalu maintained that he remains committed to serving his constituents and will not be intimidated by what he called "empty noise." He urged Ohafia residents to disregard the divisive rhetoric and focus on development issues that matter to the community.
