Troops Intercept Vehicles Conveying Suspected ISWAP Logistics in Yobe

Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted several vehicles conveying items suspected to be logistics meant for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a security operation in Yobe State. The interception reportedly took place along a strategic route frequently used by insurgents to move supplies across parts of the North-East.

According to security sources, the operation followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspicious vehicles believed to be transporting food items, fuel, and other materials intended to support terrorist activities. The troops mounted a checkpoint and successfully stopped the vehicles for thorough searches, leading to the recovery of the suspected logistics. Some of the occupants were apprehended for further investigation, while efforts are ongoing to determine the final destination of the items.

The Nigerian Army said the operation forms part of sustained efforts to cut off supply chains and weaken the operational capacity of insurgent groups in the region. Residents of nearby communities have commended the troops for their vigilance, noting that such actions have improved security and reduced insurgent movements in the area.
