Tinubu Designates Bandits As Terrorists, Vows No Mercy To Violent Criminals

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally designated armed bandits operating across parts of the country as terrorists, declaring that his administration will show no mercy to individuals and groups responsible for violence, kidnapping, and mass killings. The President made this known while reaffirming his government’s commitment to restoring peace, security, and the rule of law nationwide.

According to Tinubu, the classification of bandit groups as terrorists reflects the scale of atrocities committed against innocent citizens, particularly in rural communities that have suffered repeated attacks. He stressed that criminal elements who profit from fear, bloodshed, and instability would be treated as enemies of the state.

The President assured Nigerians that security agencies have been directed to intensify coordinated operations against violent groups, cut off their funding sources, and dismantle their networks. He emphasized that there would be no negotiations or concessions with terrorists, adding that justice would be pursued within the framework of the law.

Tinubu also called on citizens to support security efforts by providing credible intelligence, noting that national security remains a shared responsibility. He reiterated his administration’s resolve to protect lives, secure communities, and ensure lasting peace across the country.
