According to the agency, the recall was initiated after routine checks revealed that certain allergenic substances were not clearly declared on the product packaging, contrary to food safety and labeling regulations. NAFDAC emphasized that proper allergen disclosure is critical to safeguarding public health and enabling consumers to make informed choices.
The regulatory body has advised consumers who have purchased the affected Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles to discontinue consumption immediately and return the product to the point of purchase or dispose of it safely. Distributors and retailers have also been directed to stop the sale of the affected batch and cooperate fully with the recall process.
NAFDAC reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring that all food products in Nigeria meet required safety standards and urged consumers to report any adverse reactions or suspicious food products to the agency through its official channels.
