Benin Republic Issues Arrest Warrants Over Foiled Coup, Seeks Regional Cooperation to Apprehend Leader Tigri

The government of the Republic of Benin has issued arrest warrants following the alleged foiling of a coup attempt, intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspected mastermind identified as Tigri. According to official sources, security agencies disrupted the plot before it could destabilize the country, leading to the arrest of several individuals believed to be involved in the planning and coordination of the operation. Authorities say preliminary investigations point to Tigri as the leader of the group, who is believed to have fled the country shortly after the plot failed.

In response, Benin has formally requested cooperation from neighboring countries and regional security bodies to help track and arrest the suspect. The government emphasized that the move is aimed at safeguarding constitutional order and maintaining regional stability. Officials reiterated their commitment to the rule of law, warning that any attempts to undermine democratic governance would be met with firm legal action. Security has since been reinforced at key installations as investigations continue.
