Meningitis: 11 cases of disease reported in Kaduna  

Nigeria's meningitis outbreak has mostly affected children

Health Commissioner, Dr. Paul Dogo revealed this and added that 11 cases of the disease had been reported in the state.

Eight people have died of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM) in Kaduna State, the government has said.

Health Commissioner, Dr. Paul Dogo revealed this and added that 11 cases of the disease had been reported in the state.

Dogo made the revelation on Monday, May 15, while speaking to journalists.

“This makes Kaduna State to be ranked 22 out of the 28 states with confirmed cases of CSM nationwide,” he said.

“Awareness campaigns through radio jingles and distribution of posters, syringes and gloves, training on CSF sample collection and transportation is also going on to tackle further outbreak,” he added.

Dogo also said that the eight cases were confirmed in Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi and Giwa Local Government Areas.
