The state Primary Healthcare authority said that the government had provided enough Oral Polio Vaccines for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
The Jigawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, says it is targetting about 1.7 million children for immunisation in the current round of polio campaign.
Dr Kabir Ibrahim, the Executive Secretary of the agency, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Sunday.
Ibrahim said that the government had provided enough Oral Polio Vaccines for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
He explained that trained personnel were currently conducting the exercise in the 27 local government areas of the state.
The executive secretary said that the five-day exercise which commenced on Saturday was going on smoothly.
He commended parents, traditional and religious leaders as well as stakeholders for their support.
Ibrahim said he inspected the campaign in Kazaure, Roni, Yankwashi and Gwiwa local areas of the state.
NAN recalls that the polio immunisation campaign was launched on Saturday across the 27 local government areas of the state.
