Yari made the comment on Tuesday, April 4, after saying that the sin of fornication had angered God into sending the epidemic.
Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has criticized Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari for saying that the meningitis outbreak in the country is an act of God.
Yari made the comment on Tuesday, April 4, after saying that the sin of fornication had angered God into sending the epidemic.
Sanusi, on the other hand, spoke on Wednesday, April 5, at an event organized by the Kaduna Sate Government to encourage investments.
“Don’t give these kind of explanations. That is not an Islamically correct statement to make,” the Emir said.
“(If) you don’t have vaccines, you don’t have vaccines; Go and get vaccines,” he added.
More than 300 people have died of the disease in Nigeria with 215 of those deaths being recorded in Zamfara.
