Atleast Eight Suspected Cultists Arrested As Four Die In Ogun.


The police in Ogun State said it has arrested about eight members of dreaded cult groups during special operations carried out to checkmate the violent activities of cultists in the state.

Ogun police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that the suspects were nabbed following bloody clashes that have left four persons dead in Abeokuta and Itori.

According to Oyeyemi, the four persons died after a supremacy battle between members of Aiye and Eiye cult groups, who have been terrorizing different parts of the state in recent times.

To curb the excesses of the cultists, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole was said to have ordered a massive manhunt for any member of either of the groups.

As a result, the police Spokesman disclosed that all the command's tactical teams had launched special operations to flush out the hoodlums.

The operations, it was gathered, led to the arrest of Toheeb Erinoso, Sanya Ayinde, Monsuru Akindele, Olufunso Moyo, Ramon Oyetola, Adeoba Saheed, Akinyemi Olamide and Babalola Rasaq. Cleaning Services In Nigeria
Oyeyemi hinted that the suspects were apprehended in different parts of Ogun State with three locally-made guns, adding that "they have confessed their membership of Aiye and Eiye confraternities."

Meanwhile, the police commissioner has ordered that the special operation continues "until all the hoodlums terrorizing the people are flushed out."
He also appealed to parents to call their children and wards to order, as anyone caught fomenting trouble under any guise will be decisively dealt with."
