A Nigerian woman, Adeola (Addy) Olubamiji (PhD) has listed her achievements as she turns 36 years old.  From growing up in the slum of Mokola, Ibadan, frying akara to pay her school fees, working as a cleaner and a sales girl, Dr. Olubamiji is currently the Director of Additive Manufacturing Solutions at Desktop Metal, Massachusetts, USA.  Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, March 23, Dr. Olubamiji revealed that she is a Director at a Tech company, owns three houses and is on the list of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.   "They said be a Director at 35. Me: I can’t make it. No Stanford degree, I have an accent and I am black," she wrote.  "35: - Director at a Tech Company, 3 Houses in the bag, Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women, STEP Awards Honoree, RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrants, 36, I am ready!" Dr. Olubami is the chief consultant at Tech Centrix Ltd. (Canada & USA), the founder of STEMHub Foundation Canada and she sits on the board of several organisations such as Health & Science Innovations, Indiana, USA and AfricaHacks, USA. In June 2017, Adeola received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the 113-year-old University of Sas - katchewan, Saskatoon, Canada and made history as the first black person to have received this PhD from the university.  Some of the awards she has won include 2020 Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women, 2020 STEP (Science technology Engineering and Production) Award by the American Manufacturing Institute, RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant 2020, 2019 Influential Women in Man - ufacturing Award by Putman Media, 2019 L'Oreal Paris Women of Worth Canada Honoree.   The post "Director at a Tech company, 3 houses, Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women" - Nigerian woman from the slum reels out her achievements as she turns 36 appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
