Proprietor, Hendricks Medical Centre, Dr Robert Lawsen, he was in Billiri General Hospital Gombe, on the invitation of his friend, Mr Rambi Ayala.
Dr Robert Lawsen, Proprietor, Hendricks Medical Centre Abilene, Texas, United States has expressed his readiness to partner with the Gombe State Government in the retraining of physicians in the United States of America.
Lawsen made this disclosure in Gombe on Monday, July 3, when he paid a courtesy visit to the state Deputy Governor, Mr Charles Iliya.
He said he was in Billiri General Hospital Gombe, on the invitation of his friend, Mr Rambi Ayala, member, Billiri East Constituency at the Gombe State House of Assembly for an area of intervention.
"I was taken round the hospital to see which area my hospital can assist; I have seen the need to synergise and improve on the health care facilities in the rural community," he said.
"We want to see how we can improve the lives of the local people; We will assist in the retraining of physicians, as well as provide ECG and Ultra scan machines for the hospital."
Lawsen said that his organisation had been visiting some West African countries including Ghana and Nigeria for the past 25 years but he came to Gombe for the first time on the invitation.
Responding, Iliya expressed delight on the visit, which he said had raised the hope of the people of the state.
"Ayala is a good representative of his people, he has done a lot for his constituency, and even beyond, before he joined politics.
"He won the heart of his constituents through the humanitarian services he rendered.
"We are glad that he is well connected both within and outside the country," the deputy governor said.
