A sex shop, Non Sit Peccatum in Toledo, Spain, has faced criticism after putting up a window display of dildos with pictures of the Holy family painted on them. Héctor Valdivielso, the shop owner, commissioned an artist to paint the Baby Jesus, The Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph on ceramic sex toys.
Initially, the sex toys received much popularity, however, criticisms followed soon enough with people calling for them to get rid of the dildos.
A protest was held outside the shop, the shop sign was vandalised and some groups vowed to boycott the business.
Eventually, the owner of the sex shop, Héctor gave in and removed the offending toys, replacing them with a poster that asked passersby to vote if they wanted the nativity ceramics to be returned to the display shelf.
Surprisingly, 78.5% of voters asked for the dildos to be reinstated and Héctor has revealed that the sex toys will return to their position by the window.
